Yay, I've been up for 24 hours straight! Things appear to be so weird when your eyes don't seem to ever blink.

Happy Day after Your Birthday to Cassie! WOoo!
posted by Sho | 4:39 PM |

Okay, the wave of blogging begins now!

I've got a lot of cool shiznat to show you guys so you can entertain yourselves if you become bored while on the internet.

First,

Small Stories Online is a comic art website created by a Korean American artist. His art and writing are phenomenal. His two-year webcomic project, Same Difference has finally concluded, and I have just two words two describe it: fucking beautiful. It's the most "real life" sort of comic I've read. The art is great. It's funny as hell. And it is thought-provoking. Do yourself a favor and go read it.

Second,

The Journal Comic. That's exactly what it is: an online diary and a comic strip. Great idea and very well crafted. I'd do the same thing if I had a modicum of artistic skill. I looked modicum up on an online dictionary, which brings me to my next link:

Third,

The visual thesaurus! This is totally rad. Vocabulary has never been so much fun.

Fourth,

Dan has a new website! www.dmoefunk.com. Believe what Dan writes on his website; whatever you do, don't click where he says not to click. Really. Don't do it.

Fifth,

I'm going to Coachella in April! What is Coachella? Click and be awed! Anybody want to come with me?

What else?

M. C. "Wiggity Wack" Escher Lego Art, The Lego Desk, and an old favorite; Lego Porn!

Almost lastly,

The University of Oregon faculty is going to vote on Friday whether or not to take an official stance on a possible invasion of Iraq. The official resolution that they are voting to pass is right here. The University of Wisconsin, the University of Montana and Oregon State University have all passed similar resolutions against a war in Iraq.

Now, what I have to say is this: I don't like people who I don't know and don't know me speaking on my behalf. This resolution will basically state that everyone at the U of O is against a war in Iraq. That would include the football team, the guy in the Donald Duck mascot suit, the guy/girl looking at Donald Duck porn in the computer lab, the squirrels on campus, hot chicks that go to school here, the ROTC students, and me. We would all be against a war in the eyes of the world. Great, nothing better than a collective generalization that will be voted on by about 600 faculty members and no one else.

I would be against the resolution if it was an endorsement of an attack on Iraq. I would be against it if it said something like, "We think hot guys and girls are awesome!" because not everyone thinks that hot guys and girls are awesome.

I would be fine with the whole thing if they said something like, "We the faculty at the U of O, are against an invasion" or if students got to vote on it and said, "The majority of students at the U of O are against an invasion" -- anything that would at least give the minority the chance to show that they exist and have their own voice.

As I told Sam last week, if this thing passes, I'm getting a "No War" button and altering it with tape to say "Go War" and putting it on my bag. Then I am at least saying something on my own behalf. Or maybe, a "Yay War" button because Dan's thinking of making "Yay War" stickers. "Yay War" is such a flexible slogan because it could be taken as a sarcastic statement or an enthusiastic statement. Maybe some of them should have a peace symbol in the background and the others should have an American flag. This resolution has got me so fired up I might even write a letter to the editor of the campus newpaper that no one will read. Hooray!

Finally,

I ate McDonald's tonight for the first time in months. They have the McRib sandwich for a limited time. I can't resist that succulent piece of unknown meat product shaped to look like ribs with bones (but it has no bones! fucked up!) slathered in barbeque sauce with onions and pickles on a hoagie bun. Dear god I can't resist it. Dear god I can't.

Update: I'll be keeping everyone's names up on the left until Monday or so. Then I'll just keep up whoever has e-mailed me. Word.

Hey guys, this is how it will all work:

Anything you post through Blogger will show up here. Feel free to write anything: thoughts, observations, links to interesting websites, erotica... whatever.

You can e-mail information about what you're up to (like reading, listening, watching, playing, plotting, etc) and I'll put that over to the left. I can also put links to your own homepages and your favorite websites over there too.

Basically I have a few people up to the left as examples. Remember to e-mail me if you want to join in.

Down at the bottom of a post, you can click on the "comments" link and add a comment to anyone's post. It's dandy.

Basically, that's it. I think that this will be a nice little place to doodle around and stuff whenever you feel like it. Enjoy.
