Modern Drunkard Magazine, a must have for college students and alcoholics everywhere.

Last month they had an interview with a lounge-style artist by the name of Shag. It's too bad his works are cherished by the Hollywood-types, then I could actually afford his art. I would decorate my cocktail lounge in my future apartment with his masterpieces.

Actually, I'm more of a vintage 1910-1920s advertisiments type of person.

So yeah, war.

I think that I'll blame war for not posting anything in the last few weeks because it is the one thing that has been sitting on my mind recently. That and trying to graduate, become a better journalist and drink lots of alcohol.

Matt made a good point recently in a conversation we had last week. He said he would have liked to have seen the U.S. and Britain put as much effort into trying to make peace than trying to make war. I'd say six months of working with the U.N. to make weapons inspections successful was a good amount of effort. However, I guess we could have gone even further with the effort. We could have offered financial aid, stopped economic sanctions and looked for ways to work with Iraq. But realistically, would Saddam ever work with us to make his country better? Proabably not. As long as there are rulers like Saddam, and also Bush, there will always be war. We should always make strong efforts for peace and use violence as a last resort, but I think that sometimes violence is necessary. I have seen from the war footage of Iraqis thanking U.S. and British soldiers for fighting Saddam and I think that we are doing the right thing.

A news piece I read stated that more than 100 children were freed from a prison in Iraq. Apparently, these were children who had refused to join the Ba'ath Youth Party (like the Hitler Youth organization). Some of these kids had been incarcerated for more than five years. It is atrocities like these that make me feel that this war is justified.
